Head of Design | Product, Brand & Marketing

  • Lead design across Product, Brand, and Marketing for Houzz and Houzz Pro.

  • Oversee work spanning product experiences, campaigns, social, and go-to-market creative.

  • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary design team across multiple business areas.

  • Partner with leaders across Product, Marketing, Engineering, PMM, Finance, and HR.

  • Drive org design, team structure, prioritization, and resourcing decisions.

  • Support design across growth, mobile, 3D, financial tools, AI/freemium, and core platform work.

  • Help shape brand positioning and creative direction to better resonate with pros and target audiences.

  • Balance executive priorities, team capacity, and business needs to keep work moving with quality and clarity.

  • Influence strategic decisions through clear communication of tradeoffs, risks, and opportunities.

  • Contribute to tooling, process improvements, and operational planning across the design org.


Living Spaces

October 2014 - December 2017

Creative Director

  • Led creative vision and strategy for $700 million dollar home furnishings retailer. 

  • Built internal creative team that now owns 100% of all Living Spaces creative concepts and execution

  • Oversaw creative efforts that grew company revenue 80% to projected $700MM in 2017.

  • Managed creative direction for E-Commerce growth of 230% to projected $70MM in 2017.

  • Supported store expansion efforts by leading marketing efforts to increase store count by 60%, including new markets.

  • Produced over 120 individual TV campaigns and ancillary elements, within short timelines and varying budgets.

  • Executed key celebrity partnerships to accelerate consumer brand perception in the home and style category. 

  • Launched a social media and influencer initiative that included a web series, social media and blog content. 

  • Directed creative and content strategy for Living Spaces’ E-commerce channel, including web design, email, digital ads, etc.

  • Created and implemented Living Spaces’ first brand and style guide which currently governs all creative and brand direction.

  • Built and owned all creative workflow processes through project management tools that led to increased productivity. 

  • Interacted directly with the executive team, including CEO, to guide creative strategy and vision.

  • Oversaw and launched the creative of Revive by Living Spaces, the in-store mattress retail concept.

  • Responsible for reviewing, providing feedback and approving all creative concepts including TV, Print, Digital, In-Store etc.

  • In charge of evaluating and selecting all external production vendors for each individual project.

  • Elevated catalog product to current look and established the foundation for extension into other product categories. 

  • Helped improve the Living Spaces’ brand by conducting surveys and focus groups which resulted in an increased brand perception by consumers.

Art Director

Clients: Burger King, Meineke, Living Spaces, & Closet Factory

  • Produced commercials (with tight deadlines and ranging in all budgets) for clients Living Spaces and Meineke.

  • Art Directed and designed campaign materials for clients Burger King and Meineke, including print, in-store, POP and digital.

  • Lead Art Director and illustrator on all work for client Closet Factory. 

  • Lead Art Director in a re-branding effort for client Meineke. 

  • Worked directly with the President on designs for presentation materials for high profile client meetings. 

  • Was one of two teams that pitched ideas for new business, which resulted in Pitch winning the business. 

  • Set company wide standards on the look/feel for all client presentations. 


Art Director

Clients: Diet Pepsi, Gatorade, Visa, Nissan, Infiniti, PUR, Energizer, Jimmy Dean, Kraft, and Pinkberry, Crate&Barrel, & Southwest Airlines

  • Lead Art Director on all digital and print work for clients Energizer and Principal Financial Group. 

  • Worked directly with the Executive Creative Director on all designs for presentation materials for all new business pitch’s. 

  • Assisted in design for Crate&Barrel new business pitch, which resulted in winning the business. 

  • Assisted senior level Art Directors on designs and concepts for clients Gatorade, Visa, Jimmy Dean and Infiniti. 

  • Lead designer on the style guide for client Diet Pepsi. 

  • Assisted senior level creatives on rebranding efforts for client Pinkberry and Kraft. 

  • One of two lead designers on website redesign and interactive modules for client Energizer. 

  • Created new illustration concepts and worked with illustrator based in France for client Principal Financial Group. 

  • Lead designer on presentation materials for high profile client meetings.
